At the top of the Promyvion Mea Spire you will find a frightening monster. The little brother to the Mea boss, this creature has all of his sibling's attacks. If you can beat him, however, experience points and items will be your reward. Read on for more...

How do I start this ENM?

The first thing to do is to head to Ru'Lude Gardens in Jeuno and talk to Vanessa @ (H-10). You will have to have completed the first cut-scenes for the Promyvion chapters of Chains of Promathia, or else she will not talk to you. If she will not talk to you, see our Promyvion guide for help.

Vanessa will give you several options for different spires. Select "Spire of Mea" to get the Censer of Animus key item. You can technically get all of the censers for each spire without causing any problems, so I would highly recommend just getting them all every chance you get.

After talking to Vanessa head to Promyvion-Mea. Ascend the tower as usual (going through the Memory Recepticles) to arive at the Mea Spire (up to this point, it will be exactly like making a Promyvion run).

At the Web of Recollections in Spire Mea, select "Playing Host". Be sure that EVERYONE in the party selects it at roughly the same time, or else some of your party will be left behind.

    ENM's Attacks

You can think of this ENM as a mini-Spire-Mea boss battle. The Envier has all the same attacks as his boss big brother, except he is considerably less powerful. Each of his special moves are detailed below.

    • Material Fend : Evasion boost
    • Brain Spike : Damage attack, one target
    • Empty Thrash : High damage attack, one target
    • Murk : AOE Slow + Gravity
    • Promyvion Brume : AOE damage, poison and hate reset
    • Impalement : Huge damage, single target. Damage can vary between 100-500
    • Carousel : AOE damage attack, does significant damage to everyone in range

During the fight, he will also spawn Seethers. These Seethers will be fairly weak, and most likely can be ignored unless they are going after a mage. Anima does not stop Seether production, so the Seethers cannot be avoided.

    General Strategies

    • First of all, this is a pretty generic boss-type battle. Your basic party format will work. Any good team of healer, nuker, tank, damage-dealer will suffice. A team of 6 should be fine without anyone having to use their 2 hour or use extra medicines. Some may die during battle, however, so be sure you either all have re-raise or you have a WHM with re-raise in the party.
    • Envier is probably the most difficult of the three Promyvion ENM battles. All of his attacks are nasty and devastating.
    • Anima can be used, however it is not recommended unless this is the ONLY thing you are doing on Mea. That being said, this ENM is very difficult and anima can make things MUCH easier.
    • Carousel is a physical damage attack, so can be stopped with Psychoanima (intimidates physical) as well as Hysteroanima (shuts down special skills).
    • Generally speaking, if you are attempting a Spire Boss battle, you will want to also attempt an ENM. This is because, provided that you have reraise items or spells, if you lose you can get right back up and attempt the boss battle having lost no EXP or items.

    Rewards

The most common rewards are clusters of memories. These are used in Alchemy synths. Not so common drops include various visions that can be used to create special earrings helpful to specific jobs. If you get a vision item, you can trade it back to Vanessa to obtain your earring. Some of these earrings can go for millions.

The other reward from this ENM is Experience. The ENM gives 18,000 experience points divided amongst the members in your party. This means that if you go in with a party of 6, each member will get 3000 experience points.

This ENM is probably the most difficult ENM 30 there is. I would recommend going in with a minimum of 6 people to battle it. Good luck!
