Welp, I have an NM I want to kill, but I'll need some help. So I was wondering if I could enlist the help of some of my friends to kill this mofo. We can take out our NPCs, kill stuff in the area, have a grand old time.

Welp, I'm back from my trip... and I must say that I have gotten very far behind in administration items here at ClanAM FFXI. I have updated the 2 week event calendar as best I can tell from the events I see in the forums.

If you have posted any events that you do not see in this calendar, please reply to this blog entry with a link to your event posting and I will update the calendar accordingly.

Also, if you have signed up for an account and still do not have write access to this site, please be patient. I am running through the new submissions over the last week (egads, we had 97 new users since I was gone!) and will get to you as soon as I can. If you have signed up and still don't have access by next week, contact me in game about it.

Just wanted to give everyone a quick heads up since I will be out of the game for a bit. On the following dates, I will be gone and unavailable in the game, or even online:

Friday, March 17th through Sunday, March 19th
Wednesday, March 22nd through Wednesday, March 29th

Basically, for the next two weeks, I will be unavailable in the game or online otherwise.

Site Update

As most of you probably know by now, we've recently changed our domain name to ffxi.clanam.org. This was done for three reasons 1) to make it easier to type and remember, 2) to make it similar to other FFXI related URLs, 3) to unify all of the current and future ClanAM sites. The previous URL, while deprecated, will still work.

In addition to this URL change, I will be making minor formatting tweaks to this site in the coming weeks. This will not change the content, merely the layout.

Finally, I have added some new user groups to the website to help me better delegate ClanAM site/LS tasks. Read on for more...

Promy events this week?

I know it's been on our Calendar for a long time now, but supposedly this week there are going to be three rapid fire Promyvion runs hosted by Milotheshort. Anima farming logistics aside (usually you need to give people at least a day between runs to get anima, unless, of course, everyone involved is patient enough to farm before or after the runs), I've personally not seen or heard from Milo about this in over three weeks. So, I'm wondering if the runs are even taking place. Does anyone know if the runs are on?

If people are planning Promy runs this week, I would recommend highly that everyone involved read the links that were posted here. Especially read So you wanna beat a Promy, huh? as it gives a winning strategy for all the Promies that does not lose.

I personally wont be able to attend the Monday or Tuesday night events for this (Monday I wont be in the game, and Tuesday I have a conflicting ENM static) so, if Milo and company doesn't show, then others may have to step forth to lead these up. Wednesday, however, I will be online and might be pursuaded to help out if and only if everyone has their Anima ready to go.

Camping the Orctrap NM

Hey all. I just wrote up my experiences camping the Orctrap NM in Carptenter's Landing if anyone is interested. You can see my guide here in Ravenclaw's NM Guide.

FYI, the Orctrap drops a great NIN Katana that goes for around 1mil gil these days. I got mine for my NIN, but may go back for others later on.

Bah, from the latest patch:

Limitations on sending gil have been put into effect with the February 21 version update.

A cap of 1 million has been imposed on the amount of gil deliverable at one time.

Gil can now be placed in only one of the eight available slots for delivery at a time.

Fucking, idiotically, stupid. This is the big RMT solution?!

Great series of quests and 650k gil item

Raprot/Meretrix recently clued me into a really neat series of quests that will eventually result in a rather nice item worth (right now) 650k gil. He's posted a tiny bit about them in the past, but I'd like to just share the quests with everyone (and try to gauge some interest in doing them :-)
